About You Can Be Prepared

In 2022, Jennifer had no idea what the future had in store or how many life changes were ahead. Back then, she never would have guessed where she—or her company, You Can Be Prepared—would be today.

In 2023, Girl Scouts of Connecticut asked for a few volunteers to become CPR instructors. Jennifer thought, "why not?" That simple decision sparked something bigger. She had a crazy idea to turn it into more than just a volunteer opportunity and start a business. Jennifer worked hard to obtain her certifications and become the best instructor she could be. She invested in equipment and supplies and built You Can Be Prepared, First Aid & CPR Training from the ground up.

That first year, she taught 67 students—laying the foundation for what was to come. In just a few years, Jennifer has trained well over 1,500 students, empowering individuals and workplaces across Connecticut to respond with confidence in emergencies.

Now continuing to build her credentials, Jennifer is a certified CPR and First Aid instructor through three leading organizations—the American Heart Association (AHA), American Red Cross (ARC), and Health & Safety Institute (HSI)—allowing her to offer a wide range of nationally recognized CPR certification, BLS certification, and First Aid certification courses.

Beyond the classroom, Jennifer is a Nationally Registered EMT (NREMT) and Connecticut-certified EMT. She is actively involved as a First Responder on an ambulance and as an Event EMT, providing care in real-world emergencies. This hands-on experience strengthens her skills and makes her an even more effective instructor. She is also an active member of Hamden CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) and a longtime Girl Scout leader and volunteer. Her work in both emergency response and community service reflects her deep commitment to helping others be ready when it matters most.

With certifications spanning BLS, Heartsaver, Wilderness First Aid, Stop the Bleed, Bloodborne Pathogens, and Babysitter Safety, Jennifer provides comprehensive First Aid & CPR training in Hamden, Connecticut and surrounding areas, helping individuals, families, and workplaces gain confidence in emergency situations.
